First World Cup of 2024: Montreal
/Fresh from securing Great Britain that all-important Paralympic slot last month, boccia stars Will Arnott and Sally Kidson begin their Montreal World Cup campaign on Tuesday.
The BC3 Pair will appear in the first World Cup of the 2024 season and, for Sally Kidson, it’s a good opportunity:
“We’ve had a few weeks at home to rest and recuperate from Coimbra and the buzz from winning the qualifiers still hasn’t faded. Paris is out of our heads for now and I’m ready and excited to start the the rest of the international season.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to international competition and hoping Will and I can continue some of the success in the Pair.”
Elsewhere in the BC3s, Patrick Wilson teams up with ramp assistant Meredith Greenwood in the individuals.
Britain’s BC4 players will also be keen to build on their performances at the Zagreb Challenger earlier this month where GB won all gold medals available in the category. Sophie Newnham, just 16, returned home from Croatia with two gold medals, having excelled in the individuals and in the Pairs event with Stephen McGuire.
McGuire also secured the top spot in the men’s individuals with Louis Saunders taking the bronze.
